Transformers - Beast Machines

After Beast Wars, in the year 2000 Beast Machines hit out TV Screens and Toy Shelves, last year (2010) I had a bit of a beastly bug and I Managed to track down the figures I was missing from this series and there were a few of them, most of which never saw a release in Australia.

So after a good effort on eBay not to mention a missing package containing a MISB Magmatron and then the seller going missing himself no to mention the help fellow transformer collectors I managed finished this series off (and for the most part rid my system of that beastly bug...for now)

Class of 2000 - 2001

Now i Must admit these guys were not the prettiest looking figures out there with a large amount of Translucent plastic used, alot of them feel fragile and some are just terible figures (Supreme Cheetor im looking at you!!)

I would really like to re-photograph this part of my collection.. i think i squased the figures in to much and you do not get to see them that well

Blast Punch Optimus Primal is one of my favorites from this series, aside from being the most show acurate version he is a solid figure.

Nightscream is one figure that would of benefitted from actually being a smaller sized figure... the lasrge "Ultra" sized figure is just ugly and looks out of place

Magmatron is a neat figure combined, and was the hardest figure for me to obtain at a good price anyway

the beast riders i picked up for dirt cheap i think the most expensive one cost me $6.00 for a MOSC version...

52 Figures make up this completed series of toys

Transformers - G1 - 1986

 Series 3: 1986
You have the Touch....You have the Power

The Third Series to hit Toy Shelves came with a Movie on the Big Screen where we saw the Death of Optimus the Rise of Rodimus and Megatron had a change of body...(and name)

Joining the "Movie Cast" this year we saw a step up in the gestallts with the introduction of 5 new teams to the war.

Defensor was the first gestalt i ever completed (and only gestalt i completed growing up) so this guy is one of my favorites, But in recent years Predaking has had the limelight with a couple of Re-Issues including the "Gold" 2010 edition (not realy gold but the yellow parts on the original were cast a gold colour) 3 Predakings Grace my Collection taking the title of the most of one gestalt i own..... Also transformers were getting bigger with the likes of the city bots metroplex and trypticon!! So behold my year three Tf's!!!

Class of 1986

Lots of Autobots
Joining Defensor are the Aerialbots, the Autobot City Metroplex, Sky-Lynx, "Triplechangers" Springer Broadside and Sandstorm, "Autobot Cars" Hot Rod, Kup and Blurr and "Heroes" Rodimus Prime and Werck-Garr

A couple of Magnii and Autobot Minibots

Decepticons

A Whole Bunch of Predacons, Trypticon and the rest of the 'cons

Boxed Beauties

Kup, Metroplex, Octane (D-72 version) Cyclonus and Galvatron..i wuld like to add a MIB/MISB Scourge to that collection oneday, over 70 transformers in my collection this year

Transformers - G1 - 1985

Series 2: 1985
Time to show of some more of the Main Collection,
just like the first year this lot is also riddled with multiple figures. something that is a little more costly due to the size of some of the figures in this series.

The year of the dinobots.. those 5 toys were just awesome. my favourite of the year sludge was the first i ever got... he was also the first transformer i ever broke... but he was fixed.. and replaced...

Jetfire was another awesome toy of my childhood, probably because he was the first "large" toy i got.

Inferno, Jetfire, Cosmos, Red Alert, Blaster, Seaspray, Warpath, Powerglide, Grapple, Smokescreen, Omega Supreme, Tracks and Topspin

More Autobots.. From Omega, Roadbuster, Whirl, Perceptor, Hoist, Skids, Top Spin ,Twin Twist Camshaft, Override Drill Dasher another Roadbuster and Swoop

Me Grimlock Badass!! well so he think.. Grimlock, Swoop, Sludge, Snarl, Slag and we finally get to the bad guys for this series Triplechangers Astrotrain and Blitzwing, Insecticons: Bombshell Shrapnel and kickback, The Combined form of the Constructicons Devestator, Barrage a "Deluxe Insecticon" and a lonely Scrapper.

And Finally the remaining D'cons, More Deluxe Insects Chopshop Venom Ransack, Seekers Ramjet Thrust and Dirge and logic dictates the remaining one is Shockwave (the purpley one eyed one up the back)

Here is some of the packaging for bots, sludge and topspin still being sealed in all the 1985 freshness.. although top spin doesn't look like he has fared that well..

So that is that for the second year of "Generation 1" 64 odd figures there.

Transformers - Animated

2008 - 2010

In 2008 a new style of animation came from the transformers world... and with that they were able to capture that style into toy form, out of all the modern day toys, this is my favorite line i just like the simple look of the characters and the toys just have a great feel to them

So behold the glory that is my Transformer Animated Collection!!

Transformers - G1 - 1984

An Introduction

Those that do know me, know I collect toys (and Sports Memorabilia).. and I have alot of toys (and Sports Memorabilia), I think the official terminology is "lots and lots" under the universal counting structure. so one of the purposes of this bloggy thingy besides posting my reviews for whatever I post reviews on I will take you on a tour of all the bits and pieces I have sitting around. Transformers and Transformers Merchandise, are the primary focus of my collection, but there is also Marvel, Masters of the Universe and various other bits and pieces from the TV comic and movie world.

As you can probably tell.. or even relate to I am most definitely a child of the 80's, even tho i was born back when Elvis was alive i did my growing up in the 80's. so that had a HUUUUGE influence on me... but the collecting probably didn't really start until I had a full time job and a discovery of eBay. Even then it was an odd purchase here or there. It was probably around 2003 when i shattered my leg and was laid up for a fair while, then the collecting became a distraction from the various lets say inconveniences thrown my way.

So lets go for a look..

Transformers 1984.

This was the first year of the Transformers Brand, a cartoon on TV and a bunch of toys on the shelf, but they weren't just a toy... they were 2 toys... a robot. and a vehicle or object. and that there was the fascination with them, you have this car, plane, gun etc that could actually change shape and fight the evil Barbie or the bad guy that was forever invading the bedroom fortress.

There were 28 figures released this first year, the good Guy Autobots outnumbering the Evil Decepticons 18 : 10 my First was the Autobot Leader Optimus Prime a present for my 7th Birthday. so it was all down hill from there.. i managed to score Skywarp and Ratchet from the birthday money.

As you can see in the above Piccy, one of each figure is not enough. sometimes two isn't enough. is it overkill maybe, but then these things are pushing 25 years old. so constantly transforming them may prove to be fatal at some stage its always good to have a spare, or two.

Optimus has always been a favourite of mine, the two pictured are not all the 1984 primes i own, i have another two yet i still have not manage to get my hands on a 1984 boxed version. its on my list of things to get.

Other Bots in this pic: - Cliffjumper, Brawn, Huffer, Gears, Windcharger, Bumblebee, Hound, Bluestreak, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

As mentioned a little higher up Ratchet was the second TF i ever got i have no idea why i chose him, Hound and Jazz are perhaps my favorite of the cars yet they were one i never owned growing up.

Other Bots in this pic: - Bluestreak, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack, Mirage, Ironhide, Ratchet and Megatron.

The Funny thing with Megatron, he was never for sale here in New South Wales, he was barred due to his likeness to a real gun, which some fool in Queensland held up a bank with.. so he was a hard to get my hands on figure. and it wasn't until much later that i did get him.

Other Bots in this pic: - Laserbeak, Ratchet, Rumble, Soundwave, Skywarp, Frenzy, Ravage, Thundercracker, Starscream and Buzzsaw.

But wait there's more... only a little bit anyway sometimes, not always i came across some figures still in the boxes some sealed some not so sealed but still a very nice looking piece to have on the shelf. below you can see the Red Bumblebee Variant (missing the mini spy), Prowl, Hound and Trailbreaker.

So that concludes this little virtual tour, the first of many (many, many, many) more to come i have never fully counted my collection but there are 42 figures in the pictures for those playing at home.

A Call to Arms

Back in Round 23 of the 2010 Season the Sharks Hosted the Inform Roosters wearing a slightly modified strip to support "Call to Arms". So what is Call to Arms?? Call to Arms was Started in 2006 and it is where sporting clubs across Australia wear Yellow for one game to support the fight against cancer. It Raises Awarness and raises money for the cancer council.

SO what does this have to do with me? Well after Cronulla defeated the Roosters the jerseys worn by the players were signed by the team and then auctioned off with the money going to the cause, Over the weekend My Fiance' and i had an early christmas dinner (since she has gone away with her side of the family for christmas) and we traded presents early and in my little santa sack was this:

Signed By:

SHARKS: Nathan Gardner, Blake Ferguson, Dean Collis, Ben Pomeroy, Luke Covell, Trent Barrett (capt), Tim Smith, Kade Snowden, John Morris, Luke Douglas, Grant Millington, Anthony Tupou, Paul Gallen. Interchange: Josh Cordoba, Broderick Wright, Paul Aiton, Taulima Tautai.
Cant wait to frame it and get it on a wall.....
